Thesis-Society today is becoming more like the one in "Ninteen-eighty four"

Reason-People are almost alway under surveillance.

Example-In the book people are constantley under watch by telescreens, undercover party members and the thought police. "Any sound that Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper would be picked up by [the telescreen]; moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well as heard. There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork" (page 4-5)

Example-People are being watch more and more by a growing number of street cameras."Still, police cameras have sparked outcry in many cities about Big Brother and prompted debate about the balance between civil liberties and public safety.

Reason-Big brother is real (i.e:The man/men/people behind the curtain.)
